About this Highlighter:
The Too Faced Love Light Prismatic glow highlighters were released as part of the New Natural Love Collection. This highlighter comes in three different shades Ray of Light, Blinded by the Light and You Light Up My Life. I will be reviewing only one of these shades on this blog post Ray of Light..
The Prismatic Highlighter follows in true Too Faced style with it’s adorable packaging. I was reading where several people were just buying this to have as part of their collection because the packaging is so cute!
The inspiration came from Jerrod Blandino the CEO and Co-Founder of Too Faced. He wanted to capture the “etheral glow” that occurs when a women is in love. In order to prepare to create this he went to Italy and was able to discover an ground breaking liquid-to powder formula that allows the light reflecting pigments to float in the highlighting powder. According to their website it takes the best of powder, liquid, baked and cream formulas to create a beautiful pearl radiance and silky smooth texture with a pearl finish and metallic shine. These highlighters have been formulated without Parbens, sulfates or Phthalates.
Available at TooFaced.com, Ulta.com, Sephora.com for $40 USD
My Thoughts on this Highlighter:
The highlighter is adorable, the packaging is gorgeous and consistency is a very baked kind of formula. The problem happens when you expect for this to be a blinding highlight, which it is not. After reading the background regarding the inspiration for this highlight I see that blinding was probably not the goal. Jarrod said that he wanted to capture the “etheral glow” that occurs when a women is in love. So to me this is a more subtle type of glow, rather than a blinding one. If you are looking for a highlight that fits that description then I think you would be happy with this.
If you are looking for a blinding type formula this is not it and I wouldn’t waste your money. I personally enjoy both the blinding highlight and the subtle one, so I like having this in my collection. The only thing that I think is a little ridiculous is the the price tag. I can’t honestly say this is worth $30, it may be worth say $20. You do get a lot of product though 0.32 oz/ 9.07 g to be exact.
Even with the amount that is given I still think it’s a little on the pricey side. My advice if you want to add these to your collection is to wait until you have a coupon or there is a sale and buy them for the price that I think they are probably worth. This product is a nice little subtle highlight for everyday wear IMO, and it would be enjoyable for those who are looking for a lovely subtle glow.
